Studiomarion is to be found in a narrow street in Fabrezan, an ancient village, nestling in the Aude valley. Follow the signs to Les Calicots Resturant and you will find 6 Rue due Commerce. This tumbled down, ancient town house is now my home, my workshop and my gallery. My home offers a space for others to exhibit their art and enjoy a glass of wine with friends.

Traditionally a portrait is “a likeness of an individual” but for my own personal use, I include my landscape and sculpture work. Each picture or sculpture is a portrait of something, that to me, has a character of its own. Inspired by French artists of long ago, Elizabeth Vigee Lebrun, Albert Perrot, Edgas Degas , August Renoir and others, and my work continues to develop. It was my patient tutor, Alun Cownie, who taught me the secrets of using a minimal amount of colour and the art of using the paper to do some of the work. Now, everyday, I find inspiration in the people and places that surround me. This never-ending supply of subjects fills every hour with pleasure.
